What is a Webbing Sling used for?
There are applications in ports or heavy engineering industries when there is a need to lift any type of load to different locations in a safe and economical manner. In such cases, the load needs to be lifted safely and it is also ensured that it is safe from any damage. At Global, we have designed a product commonly known as polyester slings or webbing slings for lifting products.
We manufacture webbing slings of around 100 tons per month and they are in accordance with EN1492-1 and ASME B309 standards. We manufacture slings that range in width from 25mm to 300mm and have WLL to 50 tons. Polyester slings are made from high-tenacity polyester webbing and provide the kind of softness and strength that wire rope slings cannot provide.
They are strong enough to support heavy loads but are also used to lift delicate materials as their soft surface provides more protection than abrasive materials. The softness prevents shaking, scratching, and crushing of delicate cargo. They are also cheaper than chain or wire ropes.
Different sling belt type:
Simplex Slings
Made from 100% high-tenacity polyester yarn. This is a single layer of webbing(1 ply) with a loop on either side. The loop is formed by sewing back high-tenacity fabric upon itself to form a reinforced eye.
- Comes in 25mm to 300mm width and strength of 500kg to 6000kg
- Safety factor 5:1, 7:1
- Comes with an abrasive sleeve, metal fittings, eye protection, and a loop cover
- Elongation as low as 3% to 7% under load
- Available in multiple safety factors including 4:1, 5:1, 6:1, 7:1
- Can be modified and designed as per user requirements and specification
- Manufactured as per EN1492-1 and ASME B309 standards
Duplex Slings
Made from 100% high-tenacity polyester yarn. This is a double layer of webbing(2-ply) with a loop on either side. The loop is formed by sewing back high-tenacity fabric upon itself to form a reinforced eye.
- Comes in 25mm to 300mm width and strength 1000kg to 12000kg
- Comes with an abrasive sleeve, metal fittings, eye protection, and a loop cover
- Elongation as low as 3% to 7% under load
- Available in multiple safety factors including 4:1, 5:1, 6:1, 7:1
- Can be modified and designed as per user requirements and specification
- manufactured as per EN1492-1 and ASME B309 standards
Triplex Slings
Made from 100% high-tenacity polyester yarn. This is a three-layer of webbing(3-ply) with a loop on either side. The loop is formed by sewing back high-tenacity fabric upon itself to form a reinforced eye.
- Comes in 25mm to 300mm width and strength 1500kg to 15000kg
- Safety factor 5:1, 7:1
- Comes with an abrasive sleeve, metal fittings, eye protection, and a loop cover
- Elongation as low as 3% to 7% under load
- Available in multiple safety factors including 4:1, 5:1, 6:1, 7:1
- Can be modified and designed as per user requirements and specification
- Manufactured as per EN1492-1 and ASME B309 standards
Multi-layer heavy duty Slings
Made from 100% high-tenacity polyester yarn. This is a multi-layer of webbing(4-ply to 10-ply) with a loop on either side. The loop is formed by sewing back high-tenacity fabric upon itself to form a reinforced eye.
- Used for extreme heavy-duty lifting
- strength 24000kg to 50000kg
- Safety factor 5:1, 7:1
- Comes with an abrasive sleeve, metal fittings, eye protection, and a loop cover
- Elongation as low as 3% to 7% under load

Flat Endless Webbing Slings
Flat endless slings are manufactured from high-tenacity polyester yarn and have very versatile uses. These are woven either end-to-end or endlessly with no seam. They can also be designed to hold multiple plywoods. They are cost effective and are commonly used for lifting tube-like objects. A major use of this type of belt is in lifting steel tubes while loading and unloading them on a container during transport.
- Endless slings can be rotated to provide an infinite number of contact points for the ends of the endless lifting strap and where the endless sling lift strap contacts the load.
- Endless hoisting slings and straps are for use in choker, vertical, and basket hitches
